The TankSure Program
Did you know that a heating oil tank will typically corrode from the inside out, showing no exterior signs of wear? This means if your tank walls are thinning due to corrosion, it could lead to a potential oil tank leak or spill, causing costly damage in your home.
When you enroll in the TankSure Program, J.J. Donovan & Sons will conduct an ultrasonic tank test on your aboveground tank to determine the thickness of your tank’s walls, and will be able to proactively notify you if your tank is safe or in need of replacement. What’s more, if your tank qualifies* for the program, you’ll get a $1,000 Tank Replacement Payment if it’s ever determined that you need a new tank.
Benefits of the TankSure Program:
Qualifying tanks receive a $1,000 Tank Replacement Payment to help cover the cost of a replacement*.
EPA-approved ultrasonic testing technology detects the level of corrosion inside oil tanks.
Proactively protect your home against potentially costly remediation expenses due to tank leaks and spills.
The TankSure Program also inspects tank parts such as legs, seams, fill and vent pipes, oil lines, and vent whistles to ensure there are no problems with the equipment.
The TankSure Program is also included as part of our Energy Conservation Plan
* To qualify for the TankSure Program, your tank must not be in need of immediate replacement at the time of the initial inspection.
How the TankSure Program Works:
1. Initial Qualification VisitAs part of your regular heating system tune-up, a qualified J.J. Donovan & Sons technician will inspect your tank using technology similar to a medical ultrasound to determine your tank’s thickness of your tank. Your tank will qualify for the program so long as the tests determine your tank is not in need of immediate replacement.
Qualifying tanks will receive a significant Tank Replacement Payment if a replacement is ever needed.
2. Data Usage For qualifying tanks, the tank’s ultrasonic reading and related information is then entered into our database to help us proactively determine when you may need a tank replacement or other important safety updates.
3. Replacement Payment If it is determined during one of our annual tune-up visits that your qualifying is in need of replacement, you will receive a $1,000 Tank Replacement Payment to help cover the cost of a replacement.
